Born from Executive Frustration
In 2018, Sarah Chen was running a $2B division at a Fortune 100 company when she realized she was spending 60% of her time on tasks that, while important, weren't moving the strategic needle. Despite having traditional executive assistants, she found herself drowning in coordination, communication, and operational details.
The breaking point came during a critical board presentation preparation. While Sarah should have been refining strategy and anticipating board questions, she was instead managing travel logistics, coordinating stakeholder schedules, and formatting presentation materials. She knew there had to be a better way.
Together with former McKinsey partner Michael Rodriguez and ex-Goldman Sachs MD Jennifer Park, Sarah founded boardroomflow in 2019 with a simple but revolutionary premise: executive assistants should be strategic enablers, not just task executors.
